Memorial Service Held in Memory of Prof. Atakan Yalçın on Campus

We gathered on campus to commemorate and honor the loving memory of one of our cherished faculty members, Prof. Atakan Yalçın, who served as the Dean of the Faculty of Business and the Director of the Graduate School of Business, as well as his beloved daughter, Elif Derin Yalçın. We will always remember him with deep respect for his unwavering dedication to academia, the value he placed on his students, the respect and affection he showed to his colleagues, the intellectual legacy he left at our university, and his ever-present, warm smile.

Held on April 14, 2025, the memorial service was attended by Prof. Atakan Yalçın’s beloved wife, Ms. Yaprak Yeşilada Yalçın, and his daughter, Ms. Defne Zeynep Yalçın; Mr. Resul Çelik, District Governor of Çekmeköy; Mr. Orhan Çerkez, Mayor of Çekmeköy; Mr. Mijito Vinito, Consul General of India in Istanbul; Consul Rishabh Shukla; Mr. Hüsnü Özyeğin, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Özyeğin University, Board Members Mr. Murat Özyeğin and Ms. Ayşecan Özyeğin Oktay; Özyeğin President Prof. Barış Tan; Prof. Yalçın’s esteemed colleagues from our University and across the country, along with his friends, loved ones, and students.

The ceremony commenced with speeches by President Prof. Barış Tan, Ms. Yaprak Yeşilada Yalçın, and Ms. Defne Zeynep Yalçın, and continued with tributes and reflections from Prof. Yalçın’s friends and loved ones.
